New Horizons Day Habilitation Program

The New Horizons Day Habilitation Program is a specialized program located within our state-of-the-art Day Center funded through the NYS Office of People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD). It is designed to meet the needs of young adults coming from school-based educational programs, with significant intellectual disabilities and/or challenging behaviors; including those with Autism, Epilepsy, and Cerebral Palsy.

Nurturing and supportive staff encourages family involvement at every step throughout the transition process. New Horizons provides programming that focuses on supporting the development of continuing education, social skills, communication, adaptive living skills and leisure activities. A variety of specialty programs such as Art Therapy, Horticulture, Music Appreciation, and Computer Technology are offered through a highly structured schedule of activities. Behavioral support and relaxation activities that promote wellness and reduce anxiety are an integral part of the program.
